EARLY AM REDDISH LIGHT OVER NORTH PHOENIX
Tuesday, November 22, 2016
I was near the house at about 5:20 AM after dropping off my Dad at dialysis, just a little east of the driveway, the first leg of a typical routine that normally occurs Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays. This week’s schedule was different due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Something else was different this morning, when I saw a reddish light approach from the southwest.
Unlike the previous few stormy days, the darkened sky was clear, the typical stars and planet glowed and twinkled. There was also the typical early morning aerial traffic moving about the sky.
There wasn’t there a hint, yet, that the sun was about to rise, that was going to occur another fifty minutes later.
The light shimmered, and glowed sort of a reddish/ orange and was seemingly high in the sky. My first thoughts was that it was one of those Japanese lanterns. Someone decided to get up early and launch something that a handful of sleepy pre-occupied people might see and me.
I kept a partial track on the light while navigating our residential street.
I had finally reached the driveway, and backed in. I stopped and opened the garage remotely, I then noticed the light rising above a nearby tree that was on the side of a neighbors house across the street.
I safely made it to the garage and shut off the vehicle. I stepped out and went to the edge of the garage opening and could not find it. It was gone. If it was a lantern, it burnt out within seconds.
