Tofu is loved because it’s flexible. It might not be much on its own but when seasoned or dipped, it can make for an amazing dish. When cooked on the grill, it is given a delicious smoky flavour that is hard to resist. For your next grilling session, substitute meat with tofu and try these oh-so-yummy grilled tofu dishes!
Grilled Sriracha Tofu
What you need:
- 1/4 kilogram extra-firm tofu, sliced into cubes
- 1 cup sriracha sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
Combine sriracha, rice wine vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger and black pepper in a bowl. Stir to combine ingredients well. Toss tofu cubes in the mixture and thread onto skewers, reserving extra marinade. Place skewers on a plate, cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. When ready, cook on a pre-heated grill over medium high heat until cooked through, about 2 to 3 minutes per side. Brush with extra sauce before serving.
