The World Gin Awards are the global awards selecting the very best in all internationally recognized styles of gin. Presented by TheDrinksReport.com, the world’s no.1 online resource for drinks professionals, the World Gin Awards select, reward and promote the world’s best gins to consumers and trade across the globe.  The World Gin Awards, launched in 2014, now judges gins from 50 countries, and in 2018 first judged all US entries in Washington, D.C. www.worldginawards.com.

Jos. A. Magnus’ Vigilant Navy Strength Gin launched in March 2017. The Vigilant Navy Strength Gin, created by Head Distiller Nicole Hassoun who also distills the award winning Vigilant District Dry Gin, is crafted from 100% corn distillate, steeped and distilled with family made harissa, figs, fresh mint, fresh lemon, hops, and hibiscus.  This gin was designed to be the perfect base for exceptional cocktails. One ounce of the Vigilant Navy Strength Gin topped with soda and lemon is “like the best gin and tonic you have ever had, without the sugar,” says Hassoun “Because of its high proof, a little bit goes a long way- but the flavor can carry through anything”. At 114 proof – Perfectly balanced and strong as hell, this gin can either wake you up or put you to bed.

At the age of 23, Nicole Hassoun began crafting creative cocktails in local DC bars. Nicole was awarded Best Bartender in DC of 2014 by the Washington Post Express. In 2015, Nicole went from creating cocktails to distilling spirits as a managing partner at Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Distillery.  Currently, she produces one vodka, two very different award-winning gins, contract spirits, and is always working on new and exciting projects in the food and beverage industry.

Jos. A. Magnus & Co. has garnered some of the nation’s top awards for their spirits. Re-established in 2015, the distillery is located at 2052 W. Virginia Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002.  Jos. A. Magnus & Co. produces bourbon, gin and vodka and is currently available in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, Kentucky, Texas, Arkansas, California, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
