Movies Out Now You Need To See In The Theater
By Morris Raymond
When you sit at home and watch a movie, it can be just the right environment because you have all of the things that make you comfortable within arm’s reach. While there is something to be said about having the comfort at home so close, there is something to be said about watching one of a number of movies out now in a really nice theater.
Yes, to be fair, home theater systems have gotten better over the years, with so much of the home entertainment industry geared toward making your livingroom be awesome. Still, being immersed in an acutely tuned theater space with a massive screen to watch is an experience that is second to none.
What’s more, the movies being released nowadays are geared toward being shown in movies theaters. Screen ratios are very specific, and the best movie makers out there want to showcase the power of their film’s musical score in the best sound systems available. This is just something that a home entertainment system can quite do.
But don’t sweat it, though. Going to the movies is supposed to be an experience. You get excited because you know you’re heading to the local movie house & watching a top-tier first-run movie to forget about things for a bit.
So, why not head over to your local movie theater and catch a show? In fact, it might be a good idea to check out one of these new releases out right now:
Blade Runner 2049 – It’s not everyday that a movie sequel comes along over three decades after the original film was released. The original film, Blade Runner, is considered to be a masterpiece in the science-fiction genre, but it has also staked a claim as one of the great films in cinematic history. Reviews for 2049 have been fantastic, but perhaps the one common theme has been its cinematic beauty.
The Foreigner – Jackie Chan has been in the movie industry for about four decades. No matter whether it’s been in the U.S. or in the Far East, he has become legendary for the beautiful action sequences he’s choreographed. Moreover, he has many injuries (some very serious) to prove just how much he’s dedicated to the craft. In The Foreigner, he takes on a more serious role about a man pushed too far.
It – ‘Tis the season for making scary! Two words can make any person’s skin crawl – Stephen King. For decades, King has written some of the most celebrated novels in the horror genre. While he has had great success on the perimeter of horror, digging deep into the terrifying things that scare us all is where he excels. This new version of It reminds us all why exactly clowns are the worst.
Happy Death Day – October means Halloween fun, and this movie is an intriguing entry in the horror genre. Not only does the protagonist have to experience her own terrible murder, she has to do so over and over again (think Groundhog Day but with more blood), she realizes she has to find, and stop, her murderer before it’s too late.
Sure, you could hang out at home & watch movies out now later when they are available either through streaming or disc, but considering the greatness of movie theaters & the experience they offer, why would you miss out?
