In January 2018, a faint object was detected in our solar system. The object is so far away from our sun astronomers gave it a nickname, Farfarout.
It was detected using the Subaru Telescope in Hawaii and follow up observations were made with Gemini North telescope in Hawaii and the Magellan Telescopes in Chile
On February 10, 2021, after further observation, astronomers gave it a formal designation, 2018 AG37. It is our solar system’s farthest object detected, to date.
Farfarout is very far away… So far that its orbit around the sun would take more than a millennium to make a complete orbit of the sun.
