Hyundai Sonata and Palisade Win 2020 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards

Today, the Hyundai Palisade and Hyundai Sonata have both been awarded 2020 MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Awards in their respective categories. The Hyundai Sonata was the winner of the Best Family Sedan and the Hyundai Palisade shared honors in the Best Large Utility category with the Kia Telluride. MotorWeek has been awarding vehicles their Drivers’ Choice Awards annually for the last 39 years – this year’s winners were announced today during a ceremony held at the 2020 Chicago Auto Show.

MotorWeek’s annual Drivers’ Choice Awards look at vehicles from a buyer’s point of view. Trends and innovations play a large part in their selection process, simultaneously understanding that consumers also want value and reliability. Their aim is to produce a list of winners that makes sense and can be used as a practical guide for car shopping.

An episode of MotorWeek featuring all of this year’s winners is currently scheduled to air beginning February 8th (check local listings) on PBS and on Discovery’s MotorTrend Network, February 18th.

“We are thrilled to win MotorWeek’s 2020 Drivers’ Choice Awards for both the Palisade and the Sonata,” said Scott Margason, director, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Both models were designed and created with all consumers in mind – from Hyundai SmartSense safety features to convenient technology features, the Sonata and Palisade are proof points of Hyundai’s excellence in providing value and reliability.”

The 2020 Sonata is the first model to be based on Hyundai’s new, innovative vehicle platform, which delivers improvements in overall driving performance. The car uses an extensive application of advanced technologies to boost comfort, convenience and active safety, including optional Digital Key Technology—allowing the vehicle to be unlocked, started and driven without a physical key. The all-new midsize sedan also showcases the brand’s Sensuous Sportiness exterior design, focusing on creating emotional value using proportion, styling, and technology. The 2020 Hyundai Sonata has a starting MSRP of $23,600 and is now available at dealerships across the U.S.

The Palisade is Hyundai’s new flagship premium three-row SUV that rides on an all-new SUV chassis with exceptional second- and third-row roominess coupled with generous cargo area and reconfiguration flexibility. It brings exceptional comfort, technology, and safety in a bold midsize SUV. The Palisade has a starting MSRP of $31,775 and is currently available at dealerships across the U.S.
