Natural Radio Signal Discovered in Venus’ Atmosphere (video)

Parker Solar Probe

On May 3, 2021, NASA announced a discovery in the atmosphere of Venus.

According to new measurements from the Parker Solar Probe, an unexpected natural radio signal was detected emitting from Venus’ ionosphere. It was discovered while the probe was using the planet as a “gravity slingshot” for the close to the sun approach.

The Parker Solar Probe is a NASA Space Probe that was launched in 2018 with the primary mission of making observations of the outer corona of the Sun.

Venus has been in the news a lot since last September, when researchers announced the possible detection of phosphine, a possible life sign, in its atmosphere.
