Huge Asteroid Due to Pass Earth on April 29

(52768) 1998 OR2 is the name of a huge asteroid that will pass closest to Earth on April 29, 2020.

Asteroid (52768) 1998 OR2 wasย first discovered by astronomersย  onย July 24, 1998,ย from Haleakala Observatory, Hawaii.

You can see the asteroid through small 6-inch or 8-inch telescopes near star HIP 53416 and galaxy NGC 3463 around 9:30 PM CDT, which will be its closest approach to the Earth.

If you don’t have a telescope or have no access to one, you can watch 1998 OR2 via the Virtual Telescope Project, starting on April 28, 2020.
