LIVE | NASA Geminid meteor shower | 2021

Stay up with us tonight for our live stream of the Geminid meteor shower. We are streaming from Huntsville, Alabama at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center. The Geminids come from the celestial object known as 3200 Phaethon, which is either an asteroid or extinct comet. The Geminids peak tonight in the overnight hours of Dec. 13/14. You can see them from anywhere in the world, but viewing is best by observers in the Northern Hemisphere. For our live stream, the screen will appear dark and almost blank, since the camera is looking at the night sky. If you see a white light streak across the camera, that is a Geminid. Put your questions in the chat and we will do our best to answer them.
