Michelin and Speedland codesigned an innovative trail running shoe, the SL:PDX, to provide a unique, customizable experience for runners. This new shoe combines advanced technical solutions to provide traction and stability.
Trail Running Shoe
Using Michelin’s cuttable blocks technology, the SL:PDX allows runners to customize the sole for maximum performance, safety and comfort. The sole was designed with special multi-directional sculptures that can be modified by simply cutting individual blocks to adapt to the needs of each runner.
Michelin’s fiberlite technology provides strength and stability, while ensuring maximum flexibility and lightness. Assembly of the sole with stitching drastically reduces the use of glues. At the end of the shoe’s lifespan, each layer can be easily separated and recycled, while some components can be replaced to further extend its life.
Ten percent of all profits from the sale of the SL:PDX will be donated to outdoor organizations chosen by Speedland sponsored athletes.
