Phoenix, AZ – Cities become more vibrant and inviting when public art is on display and the South Central community is no different. As construction on the South Central Extension/Downtown Hub project continues, Valley Metro is finding ways to enhance the area through art.

Students from three different schools in south Phoenix created several pieces of art to be displayed on banners along construction fencing. This art shows off the work of many talented students and represents the people who live in the community. It also gives Central Avenue a pop of color besides the orange construction materials.

Take a stroll down Central Avenue to see the beautiful artwork created by youth in the community. Here is a list of the banner locations, schools that created the artwork and the images featured.

We want to thank these students, teachers and schools for creating amazing artwork. These banners will be up for a few months for people to visit and experience an even more colorful South Central community.
