Reports of UFO sightings from the United States skyrocketed in 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown, according to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC). The number had increased by over 1000 sighting compared to the previous year, 2019.
With the number of sighting in 2020 reaching over 7000, the area where the reports almost doubled was the state of New York.
Why the huge increase in UFO reporting?
There are many factors that were the cause… The pandemic lookdown had people at home, and they were able to freely look towards the sky.
But space and the sky was also in the forefront of the news. SpaceX was very busy last year, along with the Pentagon releasing information previously classified UFO sightings.
